The book is a posthumous collection of poetry by the poet, prose writer and painter Leonard Gutauskas (1938-2021). The creative intensity and the impressive abundance of the remaining poems determined that this collection was not compiled as representing the entirety of Gutauskas’s poetic work, not repeating the best examples of his previous creative stages, but is focused on the unpublished lyrics of the latest period (approximately 1991-2021), in which Gutauskas’s most important works can be recognized a continuation of the topics and concerns of poetry, prose and painting, which acquired new poetic and compositional forms.
The poems, cycles published for the first time in the collection are selected from the typewritten poetry collections left in the author’s archive.
The collection is illustrated with several stylistically close textile works of the poet’s wife Loreta Skripkutė-Gutauskienė.
