Tadas Gutauskas participated in VOLTA Basel 2025 together with the New York gallery FOREIGN TERRITORY.
The gallery presented the exhibition “LINK”. “LINK” is a collaboration that showcases Tadas Gutauskas’s (Lithuanian, b. 1970) new sculptures, which have a personal, intimate quality, and Martynas Gediminas’s (Lithuanian, b. 1974) abstract paintings on canvas. Martynas Gediminas’s experimental, mystical artwork combines decorative flatness with deep spatiality elements, layers of paint strokes, prints, and metal, enhanced by lighting and reflection effects, reflecting on the fundamental forces of nature. This continues Tadas Gutauskas’s series of spatial, silhouette-like, intricately detailed, colorful, or glossy bronze cast sculptures of shamans and Seers, poetically exploring the mystical connection between nature, civilization, and the spiritual essence of humanity.
